AI is reshaping how films are made, distributed, and discovered. This session moves beyond the hype to give filmmakers practical, hands-on experience with AI tools for every stage of the filmmaking process. It also takes the ethical questions seriously, from bias and representation to authorship and labour and introduces frameworks for inclusive storytelling in an age of algorithmic production.

Experts

Toni Thai Sterrett is a filmmaker, creative, and founder of Bad Grrls Creative Club & CinePartna, an AI-powered screenwriting app. She’s a 2022 Artist In Residence at The Greene Space (NPR).

She’s spoken at CES, Cannes Film Festival, SXSW, Consensus, Miami Tech Week and more. She co-produced and co-starred in the Gotham Award nominated film, August The First and has directed commercials and branded content for Pantene, Clinique, Nissan, KMart, BET and more.

Toni was chosen by Ava DuVernay as Vibe’s Next Filmmaker. She’s been featured by Time Magazine, Yahoo Finance, and on the Apple App Store. She guest lectures at Columbia University’s MFA film program, NYU, Parsons School of Design and The School of Visual Arts about the intersection of creativity, storytelling and emerging technology.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​·

 

 

 

 

Sami Arpa is the CEO and Co-founder of Largo.ai, a platform leveraging data-driven intelligence to transform story development, financing, and film & advertisement production. A film director and producer with a PhD in Computational Aesthetics from EPFL, Sami is a repeat founder whose previous venture, Sofy.tv, was acquired in 2023.
