Who is considered an ‘industry professional’?
In general, individuals and company representatives who are involved professionally with the global film industry for the purpose of promotion and distribution of films and/or emerging talent. This includes, but is not limited to, festival programmers and executives, sales agents, buyers, distributors, producers, and film school executives.
How do you verify the identity of the professional users?
All users go through a process of examination to verify their professional background and details. Filmmakers can only watch their own films and do not have access to view other filmmakers’ films.
What type of films are presented on T-Port?
Short films (up to 40 min long) from any genre or category.
How can I find the film(s) I’m looking for?
Advanced and innovative search tools enable users to easily find films according to country, language, year, duration, genre, keywords and search by special “badges” defined by T-Port.

I’m interested in a film - how do I contact a filmmaker?
It’s really easy! Once you view a film you’re interested in, click on the contact button on the film page. A message window will open that leads directly to the right-owner’s email address (in some cases, their representative’s). You are then free to approach them to discuss your interest as you see fit.
While we appreciate feedback and are always happy to hear about a film’s success,this contact is done independently and without any intervention from our side.
Does T-Port charge any fees as a commission from transactions between industry professionals and the right-owners?
No. Any transaction or a deal between a filmmaker and a customer is made directly between them – no further fees involved.
Why do you charge a registration fee?
T-Port is a non-profit organisation which means that the fees contribute towards the upkeep of our service.
How can I cancel my T-Port subscription?
You can cancel your T-Port subscription at any time. To do so, please
Log in to your account.
Go to “Account Settings”.
Go to “Subscription & billing”.
Click on the button “Cancel subscription” and confirm the cancellation.
Your access to the films on the platform will remain unchanged until the end date of your current subscription.
No further action is required, your subscription will be terminated after the last day of your current subscription period.
You can resume your subscription at any time when you log in to your account.
How can I delete my T-Port account?
Without a subscription, your T-Port account will remain registered and can be activated again through a new subscription at all times. If you would like to delete your T-Port account all together, please notify us at info@tportmarket.com
How do I register for T-Port?
If you are a student or an independent filmmaker, see T-Port Lighthouse to submit your film.
If you are affiliated with a partner institution of T-Port – contact your school representative to learn how to register and upload your film.
Who is able to view the films?
Only verified Industry professionals have access to view the films on T-Port. Additionally, filmmakers are also able to share their own film pages with individuals outside of the platform using a password protected link.
Will my premiere/screening status be affected if I upload my film to T-Port?
No. Having your film on T-Port is not considered as a public screening as we restrict viewing access to industry professionals only and so, this should not compromise your chances of taking part in other festivals with the film. This is similar to having a private link, but simultaneously allows professionals who haven’t been exposed to the film yet to access it when they wouldn’t otherwise.
What do I get from registering my film to T-Port?

Does T-Port submit my film to festivals?
No, T-Port does not submit your film to any festivals. It is a platform that helps your film gain exposure to industry professionals. Since T-Port is not a publicly accessible platform, uploading your film should also not affect premiere status at festivals.
Does T-Port assist me in picking the best festivals for my film?
Uploading your film to our platform does not grant this service. However, you can book an individual consultation session with one of our industry experts. Filmmakers who have their films on T-Port will be able to book the session at a reduced price. To receive a formal offer, please reach out to operations@tportmarket.com. In addition we also offer Online Workshops as part of our TalentBridge program, which focus on a variety of topics connected to the film industry and creative processes.

Our online community includes more than 2000 film industry professionals who receive regular updates through our newsletters and social media platforms, informing them of new film uploads, recommendations, etc.
We use innovative technology – advanced search tools, customized recommendations, and more – to help professionals find exactly what they are looking for.
Our work continues offline too. We regularly attend major film festivals around the world such as Cannes, Berlinale and Clermont-Ferrand, where we hold a variety of events, panels and one to one meetings in order to maximize opportunities for your film.
We also have partnerships with leading institutions such as the Les Arcs Talent Village and the Torino Short Film Market so that we can provide our filmmakers with exclusive opportunities to promote your films.
Can I share my film with individuals who are not T-Port members?
Yes you can! We even encourage it. You can share your film, along with your personal profile (including your filmography, pictures, items from the press and more) to individuals who aren’t T-Port members. We recommend that you do so as it is an effective way to promote your work within the industry. For more information see our guidelines for filmmakers.
How do you make sure films on the platform are secure?
Every film that is uploaded to our platform is protected using the most advanced SSL encryption protocol technologies and is stored in a secure server that can only be accessed by registered T-Port users, only on T-Port. Additionally, films are not downloadable and can only be accessed via streaming.
Does uploading my film give T-Port the right to distribute my film?
Absolutely not. T-Port is only allowed to stream the films online on T-Port and to use part of the film for promotional purposes. We will not publicly or commercially screen a film without consent of the owners of the films. For more details see our Regulations.
Does T-Port curate the films on the platform?
The films on the platform are curated in two ways:
Lighthouse Selections: Each year we invite two guest curators to independently select films for a dedicated collection. Submissions happen automatcially on a rolling basis with a cut-off date. You can check the current cut-off date here. Eligible films that are submitted after the date will be considered for the next Lighthouse Selections.
Partner catalogues: These are curated collections containing films selected by our partner institutions such as film schools, film funds, distributors and festivals.
Besides that, professional users on the platform typically discover films through our search tools using criteria such as topic, region, language, genre and length.

How will I know when someone is interested in my film?
When an industry professional is interested in your film, they may choose to contact you. Any contact made will be received as a message sent directly to the email address that you signed up with. We do not intervene in that process, it is the filmmaker’s responsibility and choice to handle it as s/he sees fit. If an industry professional approaches you with a proposal that is not currently relevant to you, we do still encourage you to respond in order to maintain contact for any potential future propositions.
