Filmmakers who are looking for information on their next steps in the film industry are invited to apply to join an exclusive workshop, hosted by T-Port in collaboration with the ENCOURAGE Film Talents Programme, during Berlinale 2026.

About the workshop: You’ve made a short film – what’s next?

The workshop aims to provide short filmmakers with:
- Strategic Knowledge: Guidance navigating the festival circuit, developing distribution strategies, and understanding the roles and expectations of festival curators, sales agents, and other stakeholders.
- Professional Development: Practical skills for building professional relationships through a respectful and informed approach, fostering meaningful exchanges with industry professionals.
- Pitching and Communication Skills: Interactive sessions, including exercises on the “elevator pitch,” to equip participants with tools for confidently presenting their work and articulating its value within the industry.
The workshop will be held by T-Port’s head of industry during Berlinale as part of the ENCOURAGE Film Talents Get-Together on February 17, 2026.
Participants of the workshop will also be accredited to attend the ENCOURAGE Film Talent Day from 10:30 until the evening get-together and party.
The core segment of the workshop itself will take place between 11:30 and 15:00.
Who can apply?
- Any filmmaker who has created at least one short film.
- You need to be able to attend the event in Berlin at your own cost.
Submission:
Please use this short form for submission. A maximum of 15 filmmakers will be selected to participate in the workshop and ENCOURAGE Film Talents Day.
Location:
The workshop will take place at the ZK/U (Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik).
Fee:
The selected filmmakers will be asked to contribute €49 for the workshop and accreditation to the event. Fee waivers are available for participants experiencing financial difficulties; please mention this in your submission if applicable.
