The Talent Village has been by Les Arcs Film Festival since 2018. It aims at encouraging the rise of a new generation of daring and ambitious directors, as well as accompanying them in the journey of their first feature film. For its 2nd edition, the Talent Village introduced 8 upcoming directors from 7 countries. The French actress Isabelle Huppert was the Talent Villages’ Ambassador.
In Les Arcs, the selected directors had the opportunity of presenting their first feature projects to the Industry participants within the frame of the co-production market. The Talent Village participants also took part in a 3-day workshop at the CineFabrique Film School in Lyon, where they attended a masterclass by the Hungarian director László Nemes and benefitted from encounters with film professionals (producer, sales agent, festival programmer, music supervisor).
In 2019, the 8 directors also competed for the T-Port Award of a value of 1.500€. The T-Port Prize was awarded to Double Happiness by Dana Lerer. A Special Mention was given to the feature project Volcano Girl by Thessa Meijer.
