Curator Statement / Wim Vanacker

Sincerity with an edge, authenticity with a heart, that’s what I was after and that’s exactly what I found. Voices, however imperfect, that made me listen, that made me look, that made me feel and forced me into embracing life to the fullest. There’s some sad there, and some funny, and some heartbreaking and some destabilizing, but every single one of these films has a beating heart and a personality to be reckoned with. They dared, and they conquered. Blood, sweat and tears pays off, and so does love for cinema. The world might no longer be the same, but cinema wise, the future is still as bright. Long live Cinema, the most beautiful fraud in the world!
