As a filmmaker, I've always been drawn to exploring the complex dynamics between men and women, particularly through a female lens. My latest short film, "Befor anyone else," delves into the devastating world of intimate image abuse and its profound impact on young lives. The story follows Shani, a 16-year-old girl whose world is shattered when an intimate video of her is shared without consent on Telegram. This narrative was born from my experience directing a documentary series on digital sexual abuse, where I witnessed firsthand the disturbing reality of these online spaces and met survivors whose lives were irreversibly altered. One encounter particularly haunted me - a 16-year-old girl whose innocence was exploited at 14 by an older boy she thought loved her. Her words, "For me it was love, for him it was exploitation" resonated deeply, echoing my own past experiences and those of countless others. the film aims to capture the raw emotion and ongoing trauma that documentary footage often cannot, due to necessary anonymity. By bringing Yasmin's story to life, I hope to shine a light on the relentless nature of digital abuse and its far-reaching consequences. This film is more than just a narrative, it's a call to action. In a world where digital footprints are permanent, we must confront the devastating impact of non-consensual image sharing, especially on young women. Through Yasmin's journey, I seek to foster empathy, spark crucial conversations, and ultimately, drive change in how we approach online safety and respect
