For me, cinema is first and foremost a way of looking at and into the world. I grew up between languages, cultures and places. That constant movement between environments created in me a habit of observation: not to belong immediately, but first to understand how things are built, how people move within a space, and what lies beneath the surface of everyday situations. Today I recognize that this is precisely the perspective from which I create. The themes I find myself returning to are identity, memory, and the quietly inherited weight of family. I am interested in the gap between what is felt and what is said, and in the way personal history shapes how we inhabit space. I am also drawn to questions around home, displacement, and the experience of living between cultures without fully belonging to any one of them.

Mika Joffe is a Tel Aviv-based director, screenwriter, and editor, graduated from the Film and Television program at Tel Aviv University. Born and raised in Paris, France until the age of ten, she brings a cross-cultural perspective rooted in the experience of living between languages and places. Her graduation film, Gémeaux (2025), shot in Paris with the support of the Israeli Film Fund, premiered at the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival (TISFF). During her studies she co-directed and wrote two additional short films, and edited several projects. Beyond academia, she has directed and edited music videos, and currently works as a video editor while continuing to develop her next movies and projects as a young filmmaker.
