Bio: Mathieu Volpe (Rome, 1990), raised by a Belgian mother and an Italian father in Bari, moved to Belgium in 2009 to study filmmaking. His short films have screened at global festivals including Locarno, Torino, Dok Leipzig, and Fipadoc. "An Italian Youth," his debut documentary, was filmed in Italy and Burkina Faso and premiered at Festival dei Popoli in 2022. In tandem, he's crafting "Red Gold," his inaugural fictional work, produced by the Dardenne brothers. "Eldorado" is his first fiction short.
