Locarno Residency

The Locarno Residency catalogue showcases the previous works of directors selected for the new Locarno Film Festival project, which aims to support the development of first features. The Locarno Residency offers support to young filmmakers, helping them writing their first feature film through online sessions and in-person tutoring.

During the Festival, participants will present their projects to a jury, who will select three projects to embark on a year-long pathway that includes mentoring sessions in Venice and Locarno, where screenplays will be refined with guidance from tutors and the Festival’s artistic team.
