My main interest is in ambivalent stories told from unheard or suppressed perspectives. I want to tell stories from the point of view of women. I mainly focus on the aspect of imposed shame, such as body ideals that are implied to women from an early age. Herefore I chose the medium of film because I believe that images, especially on the subjects that interest me, can be revolutionary and change the way we think about others.

Laura Hornberger is a filmmaker and journalist. She was born in Germany in 1995. After graduating from high school, she studied journalism in Stuttgart and Amsterdam. Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2020. Building on this, she continued her education at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. She studies directing non-fictional films. In reportages and documentaries she wants to make female perspectives more visible.
