Bio: Hannes Maar studied Film & Animation and Verbal Communication at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Georg-Simon-Ohm in Nürnberg. As part of his studies, he created several fictional short films that won numerous awards at festivals in Germany and abroad. Between 2017 and 2022, he studied directing at Europe's largest self-organized film school, filmArche in Berlin. His last short "Lebensraum" won the Grand Prize for the best script at "Vortex" Genre-section of the Rhode Island International Film Festival and is nominated for the "Max Ophüls Preis" in 2023. He works as a freelance filmmaker, photographer and illustrator in Berlin.
