Geeske Janßen, artist and filmmaker, creates visual poetics of the everyday by exploring the beauty in what is often dismissed as banal and inaccessible. With her documentary approach, based on the use of film, interviews and photography, she creates a subjective documentary view of the world that presents reality in an unexpected way through her compositional framing and detailed perspectives. She documents and captures moments, places and situations that would otherwise go unnoticed. Her work invites us to see the world in a new way and enables us to discover unexpected perspectives on our own and other people's lives and normalities.
