Bio: Bar Mayer (1983) is a director and cinematographer. She studied visual communication at the University of the Arts in Berlin, completed her BA studies in the Department of Photography at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design and the MFA studies program in the Film and Television Department at Tel Aviv University. Her film Please Exit the water won the Jury Prize at the Jaffa Film Festival (2019). Her debut film which was developed in the tailor made documentary film program for Israeli and Palestinian women film directors of the New Fund for Film and Television (NFCT) and at the Jacobs Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, New York (JBFC) is currently being produced as an Israeli-German co-production by “Daroma Film Production”, French-German ARTE television channel, Bavarian RB television, New Film and Television Fund, Midarom Film Fund, the Rabinowitz Foundation for the Arts, and the Yes Docu television channel. Her Short film “Blind Spot” nominated at the student film competition at the DocAviv film festival 2023.
