In my films, I wish to find explanations for the unexplainable. Most of the time, I don't find any. But I cherish the journey. I try to create a "nonchalant observation" rather then a "purist" one.

Amit Vaknin is a filmmaker based in Tel Aviv. Graduated from Tel-Aviv University. 'It's Not Time for Pop' (2024) is her first short film (La Cinef- Cannes film festival) and Pompeii(2025) her second short did it's premiere at Haifa film festival. Amit served as the director of the International Competition (2024) and the Short Independent Competition (2025) at the TISFF. Currently, she has a feature film in development 'On The Sidelines', that already got recognition by winning a writing residency at Meditalents-Marseille. as part of the 'From Short to Long' competition at the CineMed Festival held on October 24 in Montpellier, France.
