Mille is a writer, director and performer working across film, theatre and performance. Trained as an actor at Stockholm University of the Arts and recently graduating as a screenwriter from Alma Education, they are currently developing a short film with Nordisk Film. Mille’s multidisciplinary work often combines surrealism and magic realism to explore identity through the body. Since 2017, they have developed Progressive Genitalia, a performance concept framed as a biotech company designing dream genitalia in silicone, challenging binary ideas of sex and the body. The project has been presented internationally at venues including the University of Chicago, Zé dos Bois Gallery (Lisbon), and Tata Gallery (Tokyo). Elements of this project’s visual language inform their current short film. Mille currently writes for the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm. Their first musical, Hybrid, which they wrote and directed, explores species dysphoria — a condition similar to gender dysphoria but centred on not identifying as human. The production premiered at Konträr in Stockholm and is set to tour internationally this year. As a filmmaker, Mille has primarily worked with art films exhibited at the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg and at 30 Formiche in Rome. In 2015, they directed the short film Sad Lamp during their studies at Teaterhögskolan in Malmö. Mille now aims to further develop their artistic practice within narrative filmmaking.
