This project was born from the following question: How can queer people envision a happy and positive future when the majority of their on-screen representations are rooted in violence, discrimination, or inner conflict? We believe it’s both powerful and essential to create stories that celebrate joy and lightness within queer narratives. With this in mind, we aimed at telling a story where the characters' queerness isn’t the central issue, as they instead face other challenges: Can the spark of a holiday romance grow into a lasting, everyday love? Can two people with differing views on relationships find common ground to build something deeper? Additionally, we wanted the film to explore the topic of cultural differences within a relationship. We infused the story with playful nods to each country's quirks, touching on misunderstandings, language learning, and how these small cultural differences can be both obstacles and gifts to intimate relationships. A theme that is reflected not only in the plot but also in the making of the film, as it was a collaboration between French and German individuals at every stage of the production.
