Based in Santiago, Valeria is a screenwriter and director focusing on technology and media issues. She is part of the documentary collective MAFI, which has presented work at the Centre Pompidou, IDFA Doc Lab, MIT, among others. As part of MAFI filmmakers she co-directed Propaganda (2014) and Dios (2019), both films premiered at Visions Du Réel. In 2019 she studied at the Master Lav school in Madrid and made experimental short films, including The Ram´s Nap (2020) presented at FICUNAM, Malaga IFF and FIDOCS, among other festivals. AliEN0089, her first work of fiction, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival where it won the Short Film Special Jury Award: Directing, International.
