My name is Tehilla Ruddell and I am a young filmmaker living in Tel Aviv. This is my first film coming out of film school. While studying, I wrote and directed two other short films that are in the process of editing. The stories I write are mostly inspired by my own life as an Orthodox girl in the past and a lesbian secular woman today. The exploration of two extremely different worlds in Israel that sometimes come alive together and sometimes are too difficult for tolerance is fascinating to me and is a personal journey of mine that has no end. I also believe that it's important to speak about topics of religion, trauma, borders of beliefs, and acceptance in society in many different aspects. Filmmaking for me is a spiritual journey that takes me where it should in the right time and place in the process of becoming. The work with my team was a gathering of talented young filmmakers that came together out of a strong belief in my film. We went on a journey of months with lots of love and faith in each other despite the differences in our personal beliefs. It was a huge honor in the making of my film, and some nice team relationships came alive in the process. Today, I am working on a feature film and a series and hope to have more and more to come.
