Su-Jin Song is a writer, director and producer. She identifies herself as a member of a new generation of post-migrant Korean-German filmmakers. Su-Jin Song studied film at the IFS Internationale Filmschule Köln with a focus on creative producing and received her master's degree in Game Development and Research at the Cologne Game Lab. She worked as a producer for international productions and lived in Seoul working for the Korean media and film industry, and has since returned regularly for diverse projects. Su-Jin Song founded autumn song production, a interdisciplinary studio with a special focus on original stories about post-migrant identities and fostering co-productions between Europe and Asia. Su-Jin Song develops and produces award winning shorts, feature films, series and games and actively promotes diversity and inclusion in front and behind the camera. Her films have premiered and won awards at international festivals such as Berlinale, Annecy, AmDocs, Sitges, SESIFF and PalmSprings. In 2022 she got the renowned Wim Wenders scholarship. In addition, Su-Jin Song is also working as an associate researcher and lecturer at the Cologne Game Lab. The main topics in her academic work in the field of media and game studies are migration, gender, identity and mental health.
