I grew up in a family that was very stringent about being Kosher. I wanted to address the phenomenon where Jews often get lost in the details of the Jewish law but miss the big picture of life. My short film takes place on a young man’s wedding day, who (like me) got caught in the middle of family politics. I hope this film inspires parents and their children to keep the important things in mind on that longed for wedding day.

Shmuel Elmaleh is an American-born creator, director and filmmaker who was raised in Israel. At age 21 Shmuel was drafted to the digital unit in the IDF as a military cinematographer and director. Shmuel is a graduate of the Aspaklaria theater and works at various high schools with young adults as a drama instructor. Today Shmuel is in his fourth and final year at Maaleh film school, and runs a business of PR videos, music videos and advertisements.
