I grew up in a Jewish Orthodox family and neighborhood. When I was 16 years old I found out that I was born without a uterus. This was kept secret. I knew that I wouldn't be able to find love in the ‘normal’ way. A widow or a divorced man with children who would agree to meet me - that was my only hope. But I didn’t want to give up on the dream of finding true love. When I was 19, I met a yeshiva student. We really liked each other and I wanted to tell him about my ‘secret.’ At this time, I was really close to my father whom I respected very much. I saw the fear and the hurt in his eyes when I asked him whether I should tell the secret or not. He then told me that according to the Orthodox Jewish law, a man must fulfill the command of bringing children to the world. Therefore no single orthodox man in his right mind would consider marrying me. I told the guy I couldn't carry on meeting him. Until this day, I regret not having had the courage to tell him. In this movie, I tried to bring up the tough subject of sterility and relationships, which is even tougher in the Orthodox community but not only. It is relevant for every society.
