The film was born from personal grief – the loss of my grandfather, who was like a father to me. Since his passing, I have lived with my grandmother, and his absence has affected me deeply. Through the film, I wanted to explore a loss rarely represented: that of an older person losing a loved one. My grandmother, left alone after decades of marriage, continues to live with his presence in every detail – a shirt on the chair, a cup of coffee, a watch. The film depicts a single moment in her life: a walk on the beach that becomes an emotional journey of memory and coping, where a storm brings objects that stir memories. I chose classic 2D animation for its nostalgic and emotional qualities – hand-drawn lines, textured colors, and gentle movements, which create an internal yet tangible experience. The monologue accompanying the film was written from memory _from memorial poems my grandmother composed on the anniversary of his death. It and is paired with soft, melodic classical music, enhancing the sense of remembrance. The shell in the film symbolizes home – empty yet full of memory. The visual language moves between sunny daytime colors and stormy blues, purples, and grays, with warm flashes during moments of memory, creating a visual-emotional contrast between reality and the past, between loss and love. As my first film, the creative process was a journey of personal and artistic discovery, as well as a farewell letter to my grandfather. I hope viewers will find themselves in it, remember their loved ones, and feel the intimacy of life’s small moments
