Lisa Reich and Josef Zeller

MÆRE is a story about fear, told completely through the eyes of our 11 years old main character Rosa. To drag our audience as close as we can in Rosas head, we only show what she sees, hears and especially what she fears.  We’re big fans of Genre-movies and are therefore very happy to have made a film packed with suspense and atmosphere. Especially cause this is our last student film.  We love those kind of genre-movies which dive deeply into the psychology of their characters. Which explains why Black Swan, Haunting of Hill House or Hereditary were on our watchlist in preparation of making this movie.  So while watching MÆRE we not only want our audience to feel Rosas fear, we want them to along with her reach the origin of her fear and get touched by the painful but liberating realization the little girl has at the end.
