Leonie studied Filmproduction at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB) from 2013 to 2023. In 2019/20, she participated in the Berlin State Artist Program for Film/Video, in 2021, she was a fellow of the Academy for Children's Media. In 2022, she directed her first short film (Theorie und Praxis), which screened at, among others, the Ann Arbor Film Festival, the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, and the Palm Springs International ShortFest. Her second short film is eyes wide, eyes shut. She works as an artistic advisor and project coordinator for theater, film, and television.
