Karla Riebartsch was born in 1998 in Hamburg. Following a drawing course at The Animation Workshop in Denmark, she has been studying Animation at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg since 2019. Matapacos is the first fully animated film she directed. Born in 1994 near Stuttgart, Germany, Lion Durst makes his first steps in filmmaking shooting music and skate videos besides school. After finishing school he does a 3 year apprenticeship as an Audiovisual Media Designer, where he has the first contact with the Film- and TV industry. He continues this work as a freelancer after he finished the apprenticeship. He begins a full-time job at the Filmacademy Baden-Württemberg, and then decides he wants to study there, what he does now in his fifth semester in screenwriting.
