Julius Gintaras Blum is a German-Lithuanian director born in Dresden in 1995. He graduated as a media designer for film and sound and is currently studying directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. His short documentary "Yonii" premiered in competition at DOK Leipzig Film Festival and won the Gedanken-Aufschluss Award. Also his following short documentary CHEMKIDS was invited to renowned film festivals such as Clermont Ferrand ISFF, Camerimage and Max Ophüls. He is also directing music, fashion and commercial videos. His current short film project, the German-Lithuanian fiction short film „Matter Sommer“ is co-produced by the broadcasters SWR & ARTE.
