Born in Germany in 1994. Joshua spent ten years of his childhood in Tanzania before returning to Germany in 2007.  After earning a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 2015, he turned down a job offer from Bosch to pursue his dream of filmmaking. He wrote and directed his first short films during his second bachelor’s studies in Audiovisual Media at Stuttgart Media University from 2015 - 2019. As a recipient of both DAAD and Fulbright scholarships he also spent a year at California State University in Los Angeles in the Cinema & Television Arts program. Following his graduation, he started work as an assistant director on feature film, TV and streaming productions in Berlin. In 2020, he began studying directing at Filmacademy Baden-Wuerttemberg to further deepen his filmmaking craft. Since then, Joshua has written and directed four short films, of which most recently “Granica”. In his films, Joshua is drawn to international stories about identity, morality and the dehumanization of modern socio-political structures.
