Bio: Ghiath Al Mhitawi is an author, playwright and filmmaker from Damascus, Syria, where he graduated in 2011 with a BA in Theatre Studies from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts. He is the author of The Final Return, which was performed at the Royal Court Theatre in London in 2015. His second play, The Abyss, was performed at the Edinburgh International Festival 2019 as part of the International Climate Crisis. Since 2019, he has been studying MA Screenwriting at Film University Babelsberg.
