Paula Milena Weise and Finn Ole Weigt make fictional and documentary films as part of the film collective dunkellicht film. The duo's work is characterized by diverse cinematic practices and an experimental and playful approach to form. In terms of content, they deal with topics such as growing up, contemporary phenomena, economic and social constraints, and relationship patterns. Their cinematic approach is characterized by a curious and humorous perspective that does not take itself too seriously. Both are students at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. Their film Urlaubsversuche (short film, 2023) won the Golden Rider award at the 36th Filmfest Dresden last year and was broadcast on MDR in April 2025. Their current film Gezielt Mittelalterliche Überlegungen (short film, 2024) was shown at the Filmfest Dresden, the Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, and the Max Ophüls Film Prize, was nominated for the German Film Critics' Award, and received the rating “particularly valuable.” Both films were co-directed.
