Emilija Rivière (b. February 7, 1997) - is a Lithuanian film director. In 2022, she graduated from the ArtScience Interfaculty Programme at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (The Netherlands), where she explored the intersection of film and code. In 2012, she graduated from the School of Creative and Performing Arts (by New York University Tisch) in scriptwriting, and filmmaking in 2013. Her first short film, "Le Collectionneur" (2015), won best short film at LA Student FF and was in competition at a FIAPF A-category Tallinn Black Nights film festival. From 2013 to 2015, she made immersive light installations and music videos “In Watermelon Sugar” for the band “Summer Camp” and an official music video for “Jorgemilperthuis” – “MontagnesvalléEmontagne”. Her short “Möbius Bond” (2018) premiered at the Raw Science Film Festival (California, special mentioning of the best illustration of a science theory), won the best cinematography award at ECU - the European Independent Film Festival (Paris) and Best Film Award at the FirenzeCorti Film Festival Programme of Innovative and Experimental Films. The short film was also a winner of the Around the World International Film Festival (2019 Berlin edition) and has been screened at numerous international film festivals worldwide, including Chicago International Film Festival (CineYouth Programme) and Fantaspoa International Sci-Fi Film Festival (Brazil). Her latest short, “Maladaptive daydreamers” (2021), premiered at the Seoul Short Film festival (South Korea, Best Film Award).
