Eliyahu Wonda was born and raised in Jerusalem, to a religious Ethiopian family that immigrated to Israel in 1991. He spent most of his youth wandering around the city and spraying graffiti on walls, some of which are still there. Choosing a place to spray graffiti is not easy, he had to think about how he was going to affect the space in front of him. A building, a parking lot, an alley, a wall - all these are diverse spaces that affect people. And so, through the buildings, Wonda became interested in architecture. While studying at Bezalel, he learned a lot about plastic arts, compositions and the human experience in the world. But that was not enough, he also wanted to show the human conflicts. To tell a human story in a visual way, so he turned to cinema. He is mainly influenced by the films of Bela Tarr and Vittorio De Sica, the aesthetic of the image and the observing long shots. Through them he reflects the beauty in simplicity, the infinite grind of life. That's where personal conflicts take on more weight, and that's where cinema really becomes art.
