Eliyahu Shaz was raised in the moshav of Gimzo. He completed his high school studies at Yeshivat Nechalim, where he was first introduced to the world of cinema through the film studies track. Upon graduating and receiving his first camera, his creative journey began. He completed twelve years of formal education with a full matriculation certificate and served in the IDF as part of an officer training program. He graduated the Maaleh Film School after four years of full-time study in 2026. Currently, Eliyahu works as a director and cinematographer on various productions, and is developing a feature film in collaboration with his co-writer. He is married to Adi and a father of two wonderful children, Beeri and Neta. In his spare time he volunteers as an ambulance driver with “Magen David Adom” Israeli Ambulance Service.
