Bio: Chadi Bennani, a young filmmaker of Moroccan and Canadian origin, debuts his film studies at the Université du Québec à Montréal in 2019. Sharing a fond passion for storytelling, he quickly confirmed his love for cinema and the many creative devices offered to his imagination. During his studies, Chadi notably brings to life NICOLE, a documentary about the passing of his grandmother and the grief experienced by his mother as they undertook emptying her former appartement. His interest for the art of telling stories through images brings Chadi to undertake, among other projects, the cinematography of the feature-length documentary ELLE VA CRIER, a project spanning on more than a year, that he approaches at the time as his studies. Concluding his bachelor’s degree in 2022, Chadi leaves university even more curious and passionate than the day he first set foot there, excited to discover the stories yet to tell.
