Carmel Köster, originally from Tallinn, Estonia is a creative currently based in Berlin. As someone with a rich background in dance, choreography, and teaching spanning over a decade, Carmel gradually discovered a new avenue for her artistic expression: film. Her artistic vision is deeply rooted in the narratives of often overlooked voices, the pulsating energy of the underground scene, the transformative power of music and movement, and the diverse landscapes of her various homes. Through her work, Carmel seeks to highlight and uplift the stories that dwell in the shadows, offering a voice to those on the margins of society. Drawing inspiration from her ever-changing surroundings and personal experiences, Carmel Köster brings a unique perspective to her filmmaking, weaving together elements of emotion, rhythm, and raw authenticity to create cinematic experiences.
