Batchen Kahalany was born and raised in the village of Eliakim in Northern Israel. She earned a teaching certificate from the Haifa Seminary, and later completed a teaching degree at Navat Israel College. In 2026 Batchen completed 4 years of full-time study at the Maaleh Film School, where “Shoulder” was her graduating project. Batchen currently works as a freelance film editor.
