He started his career in theatre, worked in numerous plays and studied acting before film. One of the early adopters of online education, he graduated with distinction from Toronto Film School’s Writing for Film&TV program. His shorts screened at more than 40 festivals, including Oscar® qualifying festivals and were nominated for many awards. He is a fellow of 2022 Meetings on the Bridge, the Istanbul Film Festival’s industry platform and a semi-finalist for 2023 Sundance Development Track. He won The Playwright of the Year award at 2022 Direklearası (Izmir) Audience Awards with the play Nina Braun. Worked in the regie department of several productions including Venice Critics Week winner Ghosts. His first feature film project “This Is It, The Apocalypse” selected for the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival’s project development platform “Script Pool”. He also works as the Artistic Director of a Turkish production company Federal Yapım, developing and producing films within the company including an America-Turkiye co-production Ayşegül On Tuesdays.
