Bio: Astrid Ardagh is a mixed-media artist and filmmaker from Northern Norway. Her films and social projects immerse the viewer in experimental narratives: seeking to guide a questioning gaze towards the social codes and environmental changes that govern our lived experiences. Her work is characterised by a clear visual language, drawing parallels between community, nature and our sense of belonging in an increasingly urbanised and individualised society. Whilst finishing her degree in moving image at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, Astrid has exhibited her work at multiple festivals and exhibitions across Norway and the Netherlands. Her short film Leak is included in the Eye Film Museum's collection and distribution catalogue and won her an award for the most urgent work during the Eye on Art Research Labs in 2022. Her first independent short film A forgotten childhood has been screened at multiple festivals before being named the best work of the year by the Norwegian arts Platform Trafo. Currently Astrid is working on a new film that will be produced by the North Norwagian production company Fasasona, and will be released in the summer of 2023.
