Film director and recurring columnist for a regional newspaper. Nominated for the Svendborg Youth Talent Award 2018 and winner of the Svendborg Culture Talent of the Year Award 2022. Her short movie "The Climate Warrior" was chosen among 4000 movies from 40 different nations to be an Official Selection for Odense International Film Festival 2022. Now Danish Film Institute has bought the movie for educational purpose in schools all over Denmark. The movie was screened in the programme "Danish Delight" at Uppsala Short Film Festival in October 2022 and is being screened in Tanzania by the Danish Embassy in May 2023. Aiming to produce “The Climate Warrior” as sustainably as possible, the film crew has worked in accordance with the recommendations from Bftp, an alliance to support sustainable filmmaking (www.bftp.dk), and followed the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals #12, RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION, and #13, CLIMATE ACTION. The production of the film has been supervised by a climate director who has ensured that the catering was vegetarian and handled by a local company, that the director’s vehicle was electric, and that all costumes were second-hand. “The Climate Warrior” is included in a methods book for screenwriting courses at the University of Southern Denmark and in a scientific paper on “Sustainable film production through early world-building in the screenplay development” Anna van Deurs was born in 2001. She made her debut with the short film “UNIKUM” which premiered at The SVEND Film Fest in 2019. Later the same year, it was selected for screening at the AAHS Film Festival on Times Square, New York City, and entered the Teen Indie Awards competition. Anna gives lectures and talks on storytelling and sustainable film production.
