Bio: Vladlena Sandu was born in 1982 in Feodosia, Crimea. Later she moved to Grozny. She lived through six years of war in the Chechen Republic as a child and teenager. In 1998 she emigrated to Russia. In 2016 she graduated from the VGIK, course of Alexey Uchitel. Her latest short film, Eight Images from the Life of Nastya Sokolova, won the award for Best Short Film at Spirit of Fire 2018.
