Tomasz Frymorgen is a writer / director interested in stories that explore migrant experiences through the lenses of insanity, religion and memory. His debut short, THANK YOU SO MUCH (2021), played at a range of BIFA and BAFTA-qualifying festivals, taking multiple awards. It secured him a place on Screen Yorkshire’s inaugural Flex programme, where Hot Air first took shape. His second short, WALLPAPER (2024) has just been completed and will have a sneak preview screening at the UK Jewish Film Festival in November 2024. The film has secured him a place on the MA Directing Fiction course at NFTS, where he will be studying from 2025. Tomasz also works as a documentary director and producer in broadcast television. In 2023 he was one of four filmmakers selected for the BBC New Directors Initiative. His most recent film HOW TO SURVIVE A DICTATOR: NORTH KOREA, was showcased by C4 at Doc Fest 2024, and has just TX’d on the channel. Tomasz also produced the C4 documentary Accused: The Hampstead Paedophile Hoax, which was recently nominated for a Grierson Award. His past work has also received a BAFTA nomination and Broadcast Digital Award.
