This is a story set in the past and yet so relevant to the present. Probably no one watching this movie has been in this particular situation and still, everyone can relate to a struggle so intense, a dilemma so nerve-wracking. The intriguing beauty of ‘Three On A Match’ lies in its likable but failed characters. They are not heroes, nor do they have a unique take on a difficult situation. And they are for sure no role models. But still, everyone can find a piece of themselves in these characters and their struggles. They are imperfect, as is every one of us. The story as such is an unusual one. It is told by Wesley but observed by his friend Mark. Through Mark’s eyes, we accompany our actual main character Wes, who is going through a traumatic event. This construct opens up another level in dealing with persons affected by trauma and mental health issues. Only a few people have the natural talent to make such people feel comforted, understood, and accepted. In a world with people dying every day, and rising numbers of depression and anxiety it is crucial to open up a dialogue. This film is not afraid to address taboo topics. And even more important: not afraid to let them play out into a mixed genre of drama and comedy. Relieving the tension amidst all the seriousness makes this story special and a standout.

Tim Litwinschuh is 23 years old and comes from Berlin. He started his career as an actor in the film industry. At the age of 10, he appeared in his first film and discovered his fascination for filmmaking. After further films, his interest developed more and more towards directing. After further experiences behind the camera on productions like «Alles Oder Nichts» and «Wunderschön» and his first own short films, he started an apprenticeship at ARRI Media to acquire the technical knowledge of filmmaking. He will finish this in August at «BASIS Berlin Postproduction». There he worked on several productions like "DARK", „Babylon Berlin", "1899" and "Sløborn". "Three On A Match" is the first big step towards his own directing work.
