Sophie van de Pol (1991) obtained her bachelor degree as a Theatre Director at the Toneelacademie Maastricht (The Netherlands) in 2014. During her bachelor she focused on writing and directing for film. In 2012 Sophie wrote and directed the short film Roest (nominations best actor/best debut film Film By The Sea Festival, best debut film Eindhoven Film Festival). In 2014 she graduated with the short film Before You Hit The Ground (selections Odense Film Festival, Student Competition Netherlands Film Festival, ShortCutz Amsterdam, Interfilm Berlin). After graduation, Sophie gained a lot of experience as an assistant director on various (feature) films. In 2018 Sophie made the short film Fucking Cola (produced by IJswater Films. At the moment, Sophie is writing the screenplay for a new feature about the last witch-hunt of The Netherlands which she will be directing as well (Pupkin Films).
