Rona Segal is an Israeli director and screenwriter. Rona has written the feature film Six Acts (2013), Winner of the “Another Look” award in San Sebastian Film Festival. Best Screenplay and Best Debut Award at the Haifa Film Festival, and more. Six Acts was distributed worldwide by Playtime. Previously Rona has written a TV Series for Israeli TV, Screenz, and was nominated for Best Israeli Drama at the Israeli TV Awards. Screenz was bought for distribution by Sony Classics. Rona has directed two web series, Trail Blazers (2018) and Caught in the web (2020), which premiered at Fipadoc, Biarritz, and was nominated for Best Israeli web series 2020. Her latest short documentary, Mission: Hebron, premiered at IDFA 2020, and was selected as an EFA Short Film Candidate by Tampere Film Festival 2021. Later this year, Mission: Hebron won the Oscar-qualifying Best Film award at Short Shorts Film Festival in Japan, Best short documentary at the Jerusalem film Festival and Human Values award at Drama Short Film Festival in Greece.
