Ngwatilo makes her debut as a writer/director and producer with her short film, “Joy’s Garden”, for which she received a Docubox (East Africa Film Fund) micro production grant. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, and is the author of two poetry collections, “Blue Mothertongue” and “Dagoretti Corner.” As an actor Ngwatilo has played leading and supporting roles in several TV shows in Kenya and in the region, including “Makutano Junction” and M-Net’s “The Agency”. She also starred in Ekwa Msangi’s short film, “Soko Sonko” and Amar Tei Amar’s “Arc.” She has also worked in Kenya's advertising and media industry as a copywriter, digital content creator.
