Mataías born in Santiago, but lived until the age of 19 in Concón, Valparaíso. In 2015 he studied filmmaking at Universidad del Desarrollo after a few years of architecture. After developing and creating his debut film, NEST, with the Tucuquere Colective, he is doing a master's degree in documentary filmmaking in Europe.
