I'm drawn to science fiction and fantasy/the supernatural as tools to reframe tragic realities with hope, challenging prejudice and stereotypes. The depths of human experience and the enduring power of dreams deeply resonate with me, and I feel it's vital to focus on social commentary while exploring the journey of overcoming past trauma. I believe in the power of the individual within a community, rediscovering the strength that comes from working together, especially when all seems hopeless. There's a magic within each of us – not just existence, but the human ability to empathize and build a shared destiny. Science fiction, in particular, allows me to explore the rich cultural heritage of marginalized communities and address real-world themes like prejudice, discrimination, and systemic injustice. I am driven to tell the untold stories that originate from our communities.
