Luis Mejía was born in 1985 in Mexico City. Is a film director working and between Berlin and Mexico where he funded also two production companies, Die Blaue Stunde and The Quiet Eye respectively. He is been produced by Solal Coutard owner of the production house Collective Cinema in Paris, with whom he is working on the “Fleeing and death” trilogy. After completing secondary education, he moved to Europe to study philosophy in Kiel, before pursuing a second degree in multimedia art at the MIT Media Lab in Boston and at the HfbK in Hamburg, specializing in film and audiovisual media. At this time, his love for cinema led him to found a weekly film club at various venue in Hamburg. Right from the start of his studies, he produced his first audiovisual works, exploring the medium in its various forms: fiction, documentary and experimental. For over ten years, he has been living in Berlin and working professionally in the field of multimedia arts, which, alongside his writing and electroacoustic composition, he has published widely and presented his work throughout different cultural institutions such as the Centre Pompidou, the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow, the MUAC Mexico as well as the Yerevan Biennale, where his film-essay "I don't know where to start, though I know where this is going to end" was awarded. He currently teaches integrated image and contemporary media at the Bauhaus University in Weimar.
