JULIAN GERCHOW completed a voluntary social year in culture at ProgrammkinoRex in Darmstadt in 2014. During his communication design studies at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, he gained a lot of experience in the field of commercial filming with Thomas Kettner in Hamburg. He graduated university with the short film „A Brief Moment“, with which he became part of the Berlinale Hessentalents for the second time in 2021. Since 2017, he has been working freelance as a filmmaker and photographer, as well as assistant director and production manager on various feature- and shortfilm-productions. As a photographer, two series were shown within large exhibitions in Frankfurt museums (MAK, Giersch). In 2021 he co-founded the production company Plotlessfilm in Wiesbaden (now Frankfurt). As a director he is currently working on the script for his debut film „Der Trickbetrüger“ (WT). In Oktober 2023 he finished his new shortfilm „Klopf, Klopf“ a black comedy. As a producer, he is preparing international and national productions by plotlessfilm, including the Ukrainian debut film „HardSub“ by Novruz Hikmet, a Uruguayan co-production „Las Muertes Pasajares“ by Agustín Banchero and the German debut film "Wohin wir gehen" by Dascha Petuchow.
