Country: Israel
Joshua Trachtman was born in a trailer in the USA, and moved to Israel in his childhood where he grew up in a large, religious, hippy homeschool family, sandwiched between six other siblings and numerous pets. His interest in film began at a young age through his love and participation in performance arts. Josh dreamed of being a director, so he started volunteering for a range of jobs in the theatre at the age of 11, and directed his debut show at the age of 17. Joshua served in the IDF as a tank driver in active combat duty. After his Military service, and working a number of minor jobs on film productions, Joshua decided to study film at The Maaleh School of Film and Television. While at Maaleh he primarily focused on directing, writing, cinematography, lighting design, and production design. "Eden's Empire is his graduating Film." When not on set or at the editing bay, Josh volunteers with holocaust survivors.
