Works on

We focus on the political aspects of (queer) Bodies and how they are shaped by society. We try to use joy as a tool for a resistance practice of creation. We don't necessarily follow what is so called professional standards and rather try to cultivate an abolitionist approach to creation instead of limit ourselfs by demands from outside. We try not to hierarchize our relationships.

Country: Germany

Kandis und Maus is a German-Lithuanian artist duo that has been working together and are friends since 2020 in Berlin and Offenbach am Main. Their work explores the body and how it is shaped by society. Through queer desire and the radical potential of friendship, they aim to challenge capitalism’s commodification of love. Having fun during the creative process and sharing that joy with their audience is an essential tool for resistance in their work. At times, they unapologetically disregard professional standards. Their style is radical, unconventional, funny, and absurd, yet infused with a seriousness that remains unintrusive. Pata Darijus Popov (they/them), born in 1995 in Vilnius, Lithuania, is a queer multidisciplinary artist. They studied graphic design at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and are currently completing their degree in media design and film at HfG Offenbach. Jones Falkenberg (they/them), born in 1993 in Düsseldorf, is a student of film and social work in Offenbach. Their interests include abolitionism, music, and working with young people. They are currently working on their graduation film, which addresses intergenerational trauma.
